- Schiaffone is a traditional type of Neapolitan dry pasta, a sort of large, smooth macaroni made of hard grains and generally bronze colored.
- The term derives from ancient Greek, from "πας" (everything) and "χειρ" (hand), from the first founders of the Parthenon and it means "slap"
