Jabal Amman Publishers City Bottom Book

At the beginning of 2017, residential buildings collapsed in Jabal Al-Joufeh, east of the capital, Amman, without causing casualties or injuries, and that was the first time we entered those streets.

Then, for a year and a half, we traced the lives of a select group of families in the region, accompanying them in their struggle for survival in a place that offered them little choice, and then recounting some of these observations as if they were telling the readers.

Through this book, we enter people's homes in Jabal Al-Joufa, witness the details of their daily lives, moments of strength and failure, and recall the simple dreams that moved them one day, and where they ended up today. Although all of the book's characters are from Jabal al-Jawfa, their voices express a broader general situation, extending to include many in the country's marginalized communities.
