Description

The novel “Malindi” by the Lebanese writer Muhammad Tarazi embodies the biography of Saif bin Youssef al-Maindi, who was only mentioned occasionally in history books. As for its events, they are drawn from facts mentioned in three lost and rare manuscripts; "The Treasury of Secrets in the Bases of the Science of the Sea", by Ahmed bin Majid, which appeared for the first time in a public auction, organized by Christie's in London in 1998 AD, "The Crusades as the Arabs did not see them", by the Chief Justice, the scholar Abu Mansour Al-Saqri, born in The Emirate of Malindi on 839 AH corresponding to 1436 AD. As for the third manuscript, it is a memoir made by Musa bin Attar, born in Arab Granada on 879 AH corresponding to 1475 AD.
